645D with Zeiss 40mm CFE IF

I wanted to ask if anyone is using (or has used in the past) the Zeiss/Hasselblad 40mm CFE IF (or non IF) lens on Pentax 645D with an adapter.
What are your thoughts and impressions and if possible can you please share some images?

Also it would be interesting to hear thoughts on 40mm CFE IF in comparison to the Pentax 25mm DA AW for landscape use.

Thank you very much !
Cheers

Here's the official chart: http://www.zeissimages.com/mtf/cfi/Distagon4_40mm_CFE_104935_e.pdf

Don't forget that you will not be using the corners, since you are cropping the frame a fair bit. I think it's a bit of a waste to use this lens on anything other than 6x6 camera.
Hasselblad bodies are pretty cheap this days and you will be able to utilise the leaf shutter etc... Otherwise you will have to shoot it in F mode.

Nuff thanks for the MTF chart link.
I might look into borrowing a 6x6 just for fun, since I've never used one.

I have purchased a Hasselblad 40mm CFE IF and will attempt to use it with an adapter on 645D.
I'll post some results in this thread for future reference.

Cheers!

One question I have is about the field of view of the Hasselblad 40mm lens on 645D.

According the link Nuff provided the Angular field is Width 69°, Height 69°, Diagonal 87°
What would the field of view be on 645D considering the crop factors from 6x6 down to 33x44 ?

Should be close to 61 degrees on the diagonal.

I finally received my adapter today and after a very quick test I am impressed.
40mm CFE IF certainly has the resolving power.

A frame followed by 100% crops (minimal post processing in Capture One)
Manually focused using 645D's focus indicator. Point of focus was the the book's title.
Wide open @ f4

I can't wait to test it for landscapes, my intended use of 645D...
But it looks very promising (to me).

Just thought I'd share this in case someone has wondered about it.
I'll post more when I have more meaningful pictures.

Cheers!

I certainly agree
And I did not even spend much time tuning my focus technique or anything. So I am quite excited.
The focus indicator stays ON in a narrow zone, so once I can figure out where in the zone lies the best focus point I think it'll be great.

Cheers!

21mm Distagon was my favorite lens with D800 and thats why I really wanted to give this lens a try.
It seems I made a good choice with this lens.

Thanks!

Im interested how you got the RAW file into Capture One ? i wasn't aware they supported the Pentax 645D ? Due to being perceived competition etc etc , nice sharp and pleasing lens though.

Capture One may not support Pentax's proprietary format but it does support DNG files and 645D allows you to save files in DNG format.

Just wanted to add more observations to the thread...
40mm CFE IF is definitely the best resolving lens that I have used.
I have not ordered/made any prints yet but on a pixel peeping level on the monitor the details are other-worldly.
Superior edge-to-edge sharpness even in the corners.
Very pleased with my decision to get this lens.

645D, 40mm @ f8
Minimal post processing in Capture One.
