I agree with you - Fuji, Sony, Olympus, and Panasonic have shaken up the traditional DSLR market and they have been incredibly innovative. Ricoh has shown cleverness with the GR. With Nikon and Canon so well established in traditional designs, Pentax needs something innovative to set itself apart from the Joneses. In the past, Pentax had some truly creative designs, and perhaps the 645Dii is an opportunity to leap ahead, whatever it might be. Especially Olympus has done very well merging new technology with great lenses, great image processing, and photographer-friendly designs, especially when compared to Sony. Whatever Pentax does, I hope they think it through and design it with the photographer in mind as they have done in the past.
