75mm f2.8 AL (For Pentax 67)

There's a 75mm 2.8 AL for about $630 at a shop in my city. I've really been considering it lately but wanted to hear some opinions from anyone who has shot with the lens. Also does anybody know where I could find a strong body of portraiture work from this lens? I've been searching but just can't seem to find any photos taken with this thing.

Are you planning on using it on a Pentax 67, or on something else using an adapter? I'm curious, and it might help someone better answer your question. 75mm would be a bit wide for traditional portraiture on a Pentax 67, which is why I'm asking, and is also the reason it should be hard to find examples of portraits taken with this lens.

It was one of the latest lenses made for the system, and has a very high reputation, but I have no experience myself nor seen anything made with it. I would be sorely tempted though if its in good shape.

I have the 75/2.8AL and it's worth every penny. I've posted some shots over in the film section on the forum, but have not used this lens for portraiture. It's a wide angle, so I've used mine for other types of shooting. I'm using a P6x7, 67 and 67II cameras.

It's very similar to the 35mm format Pentax K28/2 in close focusing performance. Along with the 100/4 macro, this would be one of the top Pentax 6x7 system lenses.

I use this lens extensively. I first bought it for my 67ii's, where of course it served as a gentle wide angle - and was always hugely impressed Magnificent resolution, contrast and colour rendering. Test results suggest a little more distortion than the older 75, but I never saw that with the stuff I do.

More recently, I have been using it with my 645D as a gentle tele. It is a superlative combination - even better than the 645 75mm lenses in my view.

In short, superb. If it's in good shape, buy with confidence I'd say. I don't do much portraiture, so I can't send you examples of that per se.

I just got this lens last week and love it. A few shots from my first walk with it.
A Walk

Also some shots from an engagement session I did this Monday. All shot on the 67 with Ektar 100. I think it works great for portraits.
