Please, help me to avoid buying a 645D

Actually I would not buy it anymore for this price. In my Country (Germany) a used 645D with kit lens is selling for around 3500 Euro. So 5000 Euro is a lot more than the actual street price. If it is still under warranty the price might be justified. But you have to consider that a new (!) 645D+55mm costs around 4600 Euro in Japan. That is around 5500 Euro after paying import tax in my country and you would have full warranty for a year.

This is interesting, I didn't know in Germany it sells for so low. How easy is to find one?

Instead of writing a list of reasons why not buy Pentax 645D here is one reason to buy it

Seems it is made for landscape photographers in mind - it is excellent.
Body is weather sealed and a few weather sealed lenses are available.
Its rugged, the grip is awesome and a it has a built in digital level.
Matched with the right lens(es) the image quality is fantastic.
If your main interest in landscapes then 645D is a very good option.

In my opinion, for everything else, other than landscape photography, there are better alternatives available.
Short of MF view cameras, I think Pentax 645D can be a landscape photographer's choice tool.

I've recently replaced my D800 with 645D and I am very very excited and have absolutely no buyer's remorse.

If you search for a used 645D, you could be lucky to find one on ebay.de. They also had the Limited Edition online just a few days ago.

I kept my K5, which I purchased before I bought my 645D. There are situations that demanded the K5. More recently I sold the K5 and bought a K3 but either can cover needs the 645 is incapable of meeting. For example, the 14mm Samyang 2.8 on the K3 delivers an extremely sharp image that is equivalent to pretty much the same FOV of the 25mm 645 lens on the 645D. And as someone else noted, the 645 35mm is a superb lens. I've stitched images shot with the 645D/35mm numerous times to create panoramas that are far better than any that I ever captured back in film days using a Fuji G617. There are always work arounds. My 645D, K3, and assorted lenses/645-K adapter and an Olympus ZX-1, pretty well cover my needs.

The 645D is terrible. You'll hate the beautiful colors. The large viewfinder won't test your squinting ability.

Shame that DxO doesn't seem to have any measurements for that Foveon sensor (? I thought they did but can't find any).

It seems unlikely that there would be an improvement over the 645D sensor, though.

it's also going to be quite expensive... but you still probably want to wait for the prices to drop post-introduction.

Yes, I am waiting until CP+, then I will buy it if it's still on the shelf, or I will start to hunt for another if they have sold it.
