645D II hi-ISO low noises?

CMOS sensor of this size even if it's 50mp> will produse incredibly detailed hi-ISO images with low noise, or am I wrong?

I would hope so! If the camera's going to come out before the end of spring as they're promising, then I guess we'll know very soon.

So CP+ 2014 is now over and Pentax didn't make an official announcement for the 645D II or the new lens. Looks like Pentax's marketing team fell asleep at the switch.

They should send one to Banjamin Kanarek (maybe win him back?) and Ron Henricks (for his awesome sports work with the old model) to review it.

The new 645D was a "reference exhibition" (aka a prototype). It will be officially announced this spring, they said.

Yes it is very good. You can already see files around from the Phase One back using the same sensor. It should avail bile for sale very soon from what I am hearing.

Thanks for quoting me. Well using hi-iso dose make a difference.

I took last year the 645D also with me to a Muah Thai fightnight, and only the 55mm lens with me.

In 2012 a serie with lots off equipement:
645D userreview with 85 images

Well as far as I know it is the combination off larger sensor and large pixels that will give great low noise with hi iso.

Looking at the performance for the current camera's:
http://www.dxomark.com/Cameras/Compare/Side-by-side/Sony-A7R-versus-Nikon-D4-versus-Canon-EOS-1Dx___917_767_753

So I guess that when the difference between aps-c and full frame is the same as between 645D and full frame comparing sensor size then the sports low light hi iso performance will be around iso 5000 in this same messurement. Unless offcourse there is a new technological advantage created that is not yet present in current sensors. If so, maybe the new D4s will get that same boost. Even so there will be more noise coming in at hi iso, but maybe even iso 25.600 will be very well to clean up.

At the risk of starting off a FF topic or similar…

I would assume the 645 would have less noise because the lenses are bigger and cover a larger area - area of light being important, not pixel size. Bigger lenses and area to cover = larger diameter aperture 'hole' on the 645. So the diameter of the opening at f/4 (say) on 645 will be larger meaning more actual light on the sensor than f/4 with 35mm or APS or compact at f/4 which would have a very small 'hole' at f/4.

I don't buy into the larger pixels theory, partly because each new generation of camera I've had has had smaller pixels than the camera before, yet also less noise.

At less than 10k I will sell my D800 (still have the E) and I'd be VERY interested. Of course UK prices will be the same in £ as in $ as it was with the original. There's a reason the expression Rip off Britain is made. It goes for jeans etc too. Levi's took a supermarket to court for selling 501's too cheap.
