Incredible cheap prices. They could easily have gotten twice as much....

Prices weren't that low. I'm still trying to get the A-35mm for $300 or less. Maybe in a few months when everyone upgrades to FA...

That would be quite the steal...I think prices will only go upwards from here with the 645Z introduction.

OK, so lens prices are jumping up. I'm guessing the next thing we'll see is 645D prices plunging.

I got my A-35mm last summer and I think it was around $350; a pretty rough copy at that.
But just last week I scored on an A-80-160mm for $65! It's a bit rough on the outside and not pristine on the inside, but no mold or clouding. Just some dust and a few micro-scratches on the front element. I wasn't even planning to get that lens but then saw it in the junk bin at that price and grabbed it on an impulse. I've run three rolls thru it and the results are looking good!
The only other P645 lens I want now is the 300mm, which goes for about $350 here.

I think when people see new retail prices (as for the FA lenses) as high as they are it scares them. I was shocked to learn the FA20-35 sold for $650-700 after the DA20-40 came out at $1000 (I both bought and sold my used FA20-35 for around $325).

Bad for buyers, but a good sign for Pentax.

I managed to grab the fa45-85 and fa80-160 for 300au each, thought it was lucky timing! They seem like great bits of glass, wouldn't pay $2k+ though!

I looked at those but could only afford one lens so chose to grab his 75LS (for $200). It is sitting on my desk now and is in fantastic condition so I suspect you'll love the zooms. Right now there still seems to be plenty of the zooms around, especially out of Japan where they were always available. The 35 (A or FA) is still rarish and relatively pricey. A 45-85 and 80-160 set is definitely on the menu and maybe the 150/2.8. Not sure whether this will be a sell everything time to raise cash for the 645Z or look out for a cheapish 645D.

I don't recall any particularly sharp upturn in prices of A and FA lenses when the 645D was released so I'm not convinced it will happen this time around either.

I've noticed a pretty steep drop of about 25-40% in prices on used 645 glass from when I purchased my set of lenses in early 2012 up until now. If you're thinking of getting some 645 lenses I think now is the time...too bad I already have everything I need!

For me a 645D is the end game, shooting with these zooms this afternoon confirmed it. Put two rolls through the 645nii with them and the handling and balance is perfect. The AF and zoom is sweet, as is the manual focus clutch. I can't believe the 80-160 can be so heavy but work so well in hand.

The 35's are still out there, but with the digital crop make it a lot more appealing. I wouldn't mind an A series one eventually.
