FA 645 300mm F5.6 tripod fixation

How to directly attach the FA 645 300mm F5.6 ED [IF] to a tripod ?
I don't want to fix the 645D body t a tripod because of the lever arm and weight of the lens.
I don't understand why this lens does not come with a collar. even optional

You don't, never had one, and honestly never needed one. The camera body weighs double what the lens weighs. So mounting via the lens would actually cause a larger lever on the camera side. But the mount is designed to easily handle it... Actually a lot more. The mount is designed to handle the A* 300mm 4.0 hanging off of it with no tripod mount.

That is one of the great attributes of that lens, the low weight.

Ist is not needed for a light 300mm. I have the A* 300/4. Even for this lens the tripod collar is not needed. At least if you don't add a converter. When using it with the 2x converter on the 645D, the Gitzo Systematic is really being challenged. For such things a good collar would be nice.

Manfrotto has a lens support mount. But I use the 300mm f/5.6 on my 645D with the camera mounted to the tripod. I have yet to have a problem.

when I go 300mm or above I go with the manfrotto lens support. of course when I shoot the long lenses I use a tripod or monopod.
