New 645 Ultra Wide Zoom Lens

Hi there,

Does anybody have any info at all on the ultra-wide 645 zoom that appeared earlier this year.........launch date? focal length? image stabiliser?

I am hanging for a wide angle for my new Z and the zoom would be great, that way I can carry one lens instead of 2 (25+35) plus it can take my lee filter set.

Cheers, Scott

It hasn't been been announced yet- maybe we'll see it at Photokina. If I were to guess, it will be a digital equivalent of the FA 45-85mm zoom, maybe a 30-60mm or something like that.

I think it will be wider than that, possibly 28-45mm, so 22-35mm, or at least I am hoping.

According to the roadmap the mid-range will be later.

I've heard that it is a 28-45. Take it with the neccesary grain of salt...

After all, most things taste better with salt.

if I was designing a "wide" zoom for the 465d or z, I would make it a 15-35mm f4.5.

Maybe f5.6 but real wide angle could be great. There is also no fish-eye.

I found an old screw on 0.5 lens with a 58mm thread in a box. I have both the 35mm and the 45mm, with a step down ring it fits. and I get wide angle. I also have one that is 0.16, with that one I get "fish eye" .if I stop down to f 16-22 it's fairly sharp. the 0.16 is by bower, and sells foe $35.00 from adorama or B&H. it also has a 58mm thread. there is a sample under "is there a fish eye".
