Decent sample shots. Sharp across the frame at F9 and F10 (well, it better be).

Its a shame though that they have been so poorly processed that they do not show what the lens is capable of. Its almost like they are out of camera jpg or something.

They need to sack whoever takes these demo shots.

Yes, the 28mm shot appears to be sharp right up to and except for the very outer lower corners, but its under exposed and poorly sharpened that you cant really tell.

Not to impressed with the landscape image. Not made by a landscape photographer, looks a little like a holiday picture.

I am surprised that the 25mm DA is still missing in the Ricoh Japan list and the D FA is obviously discontinued. It would be a pity if this zoom replaces the 25mm DA, a lens which I really like a lot (I know, not everybody does).

They have probably made a mistake and not included the 25mm. It's a new lens, hardly to be discontinued.
Send them a website feedback.

Seriously, these are the sample images you put out to promote a $5000 lens? I like Pentax as a company that offers what others dare not, but they need to hire a proper professional that can produce quality images.

I've never seen a lens that wasn't

I am with you, its like the images have not been put through a proper shooting and editing process at all. Like the test bench boy went out without a tripod and took some photos in jpg, downloaded them to the PC and there we go.

Very poor form.

I'm in there somewhere near the beginning of the sample shooter volunteer queue, as well.

Come on Ricoh, it's not difficult to find somebody skilled enough to do way better than this to promote new flagship gear! Take the high ground and act like the equipment is as killer as it is, and is worth the prices you're asking... put a high degree of polish on every communication about it.

While this appears to be executed more professionally (combination of panning and interesting lighting), is this really a good image to showcase the optical performance? Jeez, Ricoh, you engineered a 3.2 lbs heavy duty WA zoom lens most likely optimized for corner to corner sharpness. What images do you think will do the job to convince potential buyers? Well, I'm done complaining; I will post some pics when I get my hands on it.
