Craigslist Deal?

Pentax 6X45 Medium Format film camera

Is this a good deal? Not too familiar with Medium format.

It's probably a fair price, but not really a deal.

A pretty good deal at $300, a steal for $200, if everything works.
You could piece that kit together from ebay for about the price the seller is asking.
A 645N with a 120-back would be a better kit. And a LeMans 4040 bag.
The 220-back only gives you access to a few types of film. A 120-back would be more useful.

220 film is getting expensive and hard to find. I would try and bargain with the seller.

I would not buy any camera taking just 220 film; the foregoing posts explain why quite adequately. You expose the five rolls of film... then what??
A more important concern with Craiglist is to ensure you are not unwittingly buying stolen property. This applies to eBay too.

The lenses and flash are worth $400. This camera accepts both 220 and 120 film; each film uses a slightly different insert. if you decide to buy the camera, you can buy a 120 film insert for use with the more available 120 film. I have seen reports that the 220 insert can be modified to use 120, A search might find them.

There many 120 inserts on ebay. Here's one for under $50:

The inserts are extremely easy to swap back and forth between 120/220. I'll have to do a proper tutorial/guide one of these days

A note on 120/220 for Pentax 645/645N/N II

The 220 inserts are easily adapted to 120. Search the web and find out how---it's a simple fix involving switching a tab. Furthermore, just doing heads-up shopping will put you into used 120 inserts if you are truly picky. It requires a bit of stick-with-it-ness because they aren't always available, but I managed well enough.

Yes, if you are not in Japan 220 can be hard to come by.
