Burst mode

I have lost the ability to shoot burst mode when any lens is set to auto focus mode. Works fine in manual focus mode. I am going through the custom menus for all the AF settings , but its pretty confusing language. Any body else lose burst mode in auto focus? And solve the problem?

What do you mean by you lost it? Does the camera refuse to shoot more than one frame? If you're in AF.S and focus priority, the camera won't shoot unless your subject is locked in focus.

Thanks Adam

Thanks, I got it sorted out. It wasn't in the custom menus i was setting to "shutter priority". It was that knob on the body that switches between "C" and AF-S. Set to "C" it won't allow continuous shooting, but the drive menu does not prevent me from selecting high speed, hence my confusion. Also, as I gravitate away from 67 glass and am virtually all DFA , i am learning a lot about Pentax autofocus. Or, relearning , but i don't think the mz-s or *istD had so many auto focus choices.

I assume you're talking about a 645Z? This was a bug in firmware 1.0, fixed in 1.1. I wrote about it recently in another thread here. High-speed and low-speed burst modes are supposed to work in both AF.S and AF.C, but for some reason it was not supported in AF.C if you assigned autofocus activation to the back AF button and weren't actively hitting the AF button all the time.

Upgrade to firmware 1.1...
