is this a good price

Someone on Craigslist is selling a pentax 645N with a FA 75mm 2.8 for $550. Is this a good price? The lens goes for 600+ on adorama.

Sounds too good to be true. Maybe it isn't!

Sounds about right, decent deal. I got a similar deal at Service Photo in Baltimore about 2 years ago.

Pentax 645N goes for anywhere from $350 - $550 depending on condition & a FA 75 f2.8 is its standard lesn that shoiuld be somewhere around $250 - IF- you can find one
The release of the Z has seemed to dry up supply
So the price is fair if its a decent camera and lens

I agree. With the 645Z out again the 75mm may be worth a bit more (in the $300 range). A year ago you could pick one up for $150. The market of used 645 lenses has really shot up again as supply is not what it was since all the new 645Z owners consumed everything.

The price the OP lists from Adorama is the new price so hard to compare... The price of the 645N is somewhat based on what film holders does it have, base brice around $300. 220 is fairly hard to find now and makes the film holder kinda worthless where you will need to source a 120 to use it (going for $30-$50). So $350 on the 645N would be fair price if it has a couple 120 holders.

My experience watching the market and wishing I had bought a second A 35mm a year ago...

So fairly reasonable price today. A year ago I would have said it was too high since the lens. Condition doesn't seem to have too big an impact on the price of the body. People with immaculate condition ask more but you rarely see them sell... Condition on the lens will fluctuate the price considerably though.

That is incorrect! 220 holders can be switched to 120 by a pretty simple modification: Pentax 645N - 120 film in 220 magazine?

Well there you go so a 220 holder should be worth the same as 120 but they don't sell that way (averaging $10-$15 less). So if you need spare spare film holders buy 220...
