Pentax 67ii issue

My Pentax 67ii has not been used in over a decade. I broke it out of the closet and put a roll of film in and fired off some test shots. After about 3 frames it would not fire. The mirror is getting stuck half way up. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue.... It is not the battery issue. It is getting stuck half way up and if I play with it, it will reset.

It needs a CLA, that should get it back
long term storage does things like this (the lubricant hardens, things seize....)

You are in the US Eric is the best tech in the country for old film gear

I spoke w/ Eric last week regarding repairing my 67ii film advance and he referred me to Precision in Chicago for the film advance repair. He might still perform CLAs on the 67ii, possibly. Precision referred me to Royal Cameras in the Chicago area... certain parts are getting scarce

I is getting to be one of those if you see a good body grab it as a spare and the old one can become a parts source in time. I imagine it's worse for any medium format than 35 mm (I had trouble getting some items for a Mamiya Super 23, so much so in fact I haven't completed it. One of these days. Until then it looks good

I don't see how parts for the 67II are becoming scarce. But if Eric, who has a well-known global reputation, cannot repair it, things are looking a bit gloomy. These 67II cameras are well represented in art and some professional work circles and are very reliable. I would move on to one without hesitation in the event my 67 packed up. On the other hand, parts for the elderly 1969-vintage 6x7 and later 67 bodies are very, very difficult to source new, and it's common for another body to be cannibalised to effect a good repair.
