DxO Optics needs our help to support 645Z users (er, ... me)

I've used DxO Optics for years now, since they added modules for the K10D to it. It's the tool I use most when I want to quickly batch convert the RAW files from my cameras. Every software package has it's quirks, and DxO Optics Pro is no exception, but when it works, it works well. It's got a relatively simple interface, produces good output, and operates fairly logically (to me).

One of those quirks is that it doesn't support every camera. In this case, it doesn't support my 645Z yet (or the 645D, but I don't have one of those). Another is that they seem to only create modules for cameras/lenses they deem popular enough. They don't support the 645Z, but they already support the D810. They don't support the Q, but they do support the iPhone 6 and Samsung Gallaxy 5. Go figure.

Please go to DxO Optics Modules suggestion form | www.dxo.com and add the following to get us started:
Pentax 645Z
SMC Pentax-FA 645 35mm F3.5 AL [IF]
SMC Pentax-FA 645 120mm F4 Macro
SMC Pentax-FA 645 45-85mm F4.5
SMC Pentax-FA 645 80-160mm F4.5

Pentax 645Z will have to be added for each lens module requested. Just copy and paste. Only 4 modules with the 645Z can be requested at a time, but you can fill out multiple forms. You can add the 645D and other lenses too if you like. You will have to enter your email address, but they don't SPAM.

The more of us that request it, the more likely our hardware will be supported. Thanks for your support!

PS - I don't have any affiliations with DxO, other than I use the product.

This process does have an effect.

I've nominated cameras and lenses in the past, and it has indeed helped bump them up in the DxO support queue and get them supported by DxO.

Ricoh should also come to the party too, of course. One would hope that Ricoh have made available to DxO Labs a 645Z, with all the current lenses, for them to use in constructing their camera and lens modules.

Done! I also did this for the 25mm f4DA, the 55mm f2.8 DFA the 90mm f2.8DA and the new super wide zoom (28-45 DA).

Thanks. I'm thinking of adding the Z and lenses on a weekly basis until they add it.

Thanks guys! Yuri, DxO Optics won't be able to work with the 67 or 645 'A' lenses, the bodies can't read the focal length from them. It won't be able to provide optical corrections for those. It will work with the FA lenses though. But once they add the 645D and 645Z bodies to the software, at least it won't ignore the files.

Yeah, I assumed as much - which is why I didn't included the 67 or 645A lenses... Pity. You'd like to think that it could allow you to enter details manually (including approx. focusing distance)...

Shameless Bump

Seems there are more 645D/Z users these days. Perhaps some new folk can add requests to DxO. I've re-submitted my request.

Pentax 645Z will get its DxOMark rating this summer. That means they have one in their lab and might will add support for it in the DxO Optics software too.

'm praying for 645Z support in DxO Optics pro. As a long time user of DxO Optics pro (with Canon and Leica) I'm missing it desperately.
