Thinking of doing that very same thing but not all of the Nikon stuff. Will keep the D4.

Wow, that's quite some turn. With this kind of investment we expect some really nice shots!

So THAT's why all those Nikon bodies are littering eBay! And I thought I was the only one...

Yep did that a few months ago - moved to a 645D, sold all the Nikon gear and now have added a 645Z.

Why? Tried to explain the why on my blog. See -

For the why and then part 2 to see if it was a mistake or not :-)

I just sold off most of my Nikon gear - kept one body and a lens for shooting "smaller stuff" - and bought the Z

I will be doing the same bought the 645z and going to be selling all my nikon gear. I have quite a lot too. I am trying to simplify my photography so I am only getting the 645z with the 28-45, 55, 90, 120 for now. Tired of gear in a way.

I have a smaller m43 camera I use for scuba so no need for the d800 for smaller stuff.

I did something similar this summer, although it wasn't Nikon gear. Divested myself of a bunch of gear, bodies, lenses, and more, to finance my Z. Kept my A7R and several lenses, but now have sold 4 of those to help get another couple of lenses for the Z. So, now a small kit and a large kit, for their respective purposes. Kept one film camera (6x9) and one little waterproof (Pentax) for fishing. Z kit is almost complete, A7R kit needs a couple of additions.
