Pentax 67 digital version

Well I love Pentax 67 itself. I really wonder that if Pentax is going to make 67 digital version like 645z. I know that there is no 67 sensor size ever.

Will they going to make 67 size if Sony or other companies develop 67 sensor?

That would be interesting to see. If Pentax is able to have the 67 bayonet mount on it so people could use the older lens, then that'd be even better.

I think sensors that large will be reserved for and probably only necessary in specialized devices rather than consumer products.

I think even if they do make it, it'll be made in small batches, since it'll be more of a specialized/niched item.

A 60 x 70 sensor. I would want a lens that started at f16 at least and closed down to like f90.........

Yeah I realized that there are no 67 digital medium format. But I love Pentax 67ii design and it seems to be small.

It'd probably be about 20% bigger (roughly) than the 645z, but knowing Pentax they'll try to keep it small if there was ever one made.

Weld six 35mm sensors together and it's 720x720.. are we close enough? Wow that would be impressive.

If they are going to do like they did with the 645D and 645Z that means a cropped 67 sensor... but wait a minute! Wouldn't that just be a full sized 645 sensor!?

How about if they make a 645 sized sensor first?

My thoughts exactly, it would be some form of butchered 6x7 format.
No thanks, I’ll stick with film.

No. Will never happen.

Not ever.

Sorry.

There are some 41x55mm sensors, crop factor to the full 56x70mm would be similar like with the 645D and 42x56mm. Prive would be at least double of the 645z.

Problem: The 6x7 has much less space left than the 645. The 645 had 6 AA cells and the thick film back. This space has been used for the eletronics, the memory card and the cell. The 6x7 has only a small Lithium cell and the space for two rolls 120 film left.. Guess it would be at least half an Inch thicker than the 67II.

But it's going to be mirrorless right? After all, by the time this dream actually comes true there probably won't be any SLR design cameras left... (where's the emoticon for "stirring the pot"?)
