I just purchased the Pentax A 120/F4 Macro. How is this lens for Portraits? How does it compare to FA 150/2.8? I normally shoot my portraits of F 5.6 min

The Pentax A 120/F4 Macro will not give you a smooth look, it will produce fine detail - which for some people's tastes is to be avoided.

Let's just hope they aren't monstrously big and heavy like the 28-45 of I might find myself selling up my Pentax system.

Also it would help if they weren't $5000 US either.

I just had a bunch of gear stolen so I am in the middle of re buying all my lenses.

Gear before it was stolen
fa 35mm
fa45-85
55 2.8
fa75mm 2.8
fa 80-160
fa 150 2.8
a 150 3.5
400mm 5.6
90mm macro

So after losing a bunch of those lenses, the 55 2.8 and 400mm werent stolen so I still have them

the 45-85 is really a gem of a lens for a solid price but I won't be getting it again since i used my 35mm or my 55mm more often. The 55mm is simply an amazing lens sharp and silent. the fa 75mm i did like and will buy it again. The 80-160 is a solid lens not the sharpest or fastest but I use it a lot for weddings and its very useful. the 90macros is well just amazing but it should be at that price. The 150 2.8 i used a lot, it a very nice length for portraits and renders nicely, does suffer of CA wide open though but I will be buying it again as well. the a 150 3.5 is a steal if you dont mind manual focusing but ill keep my 1502.8 and wont be getting it again. The fa 35mm will be replaced with the ne hd version and I'm hoping to pick up a 25 mm
