645 to K/Eos lens adapters

Hi,

I have been looking at several adapters for using 645 lenses on K mount and Eos mount.

Can anybody describe how these adapters allow you to set the aperture?

A, FA and DA/DFA lenses need to have the aperture slider on the rear of the lens moved appropriately to stop down.

The Fotodiox site says to use "stop down metering".

Any takers?

The adapters I've used with my prior EOS and Pentax K bodies did not have any optical elements. The Pentax 645 lenses all have manual or automatic aperture adjustment. I simply adjusted manually to the required setting and adjusted the shutter speed manually on the camera.

Most adapters, including the genuine Pentax one, have no mechanical components to automate the aperture. Adapted 645 lenses will essentially function just like M42 lenses and you will need to follow the same exact procedure as outlined in this article:
