Pentax 6x7 and 67

I just purchased a 6x7 and a 67 with three lenses, etc. What batteries do they use and can I use a rechargeable lithium battery in the 67s without worries?

Also, I am looking to buy a wood grip/handle for them. Anybody got one to sell?

Thanks for your help.

J

Both use 6V batteries, but I would go with a silver oxide one. (Panasonic & Kodak make them)

Battery designation is PX28S or 4SR44 or S544 among the most common. The "S" in all of these means silver battery, which is what the camera was designed for. Alkaline batteries (PX28A) have less consistent voltage.

I use an 4LR44 (I think), there's little benefit to using rechargeable batteries as they last for ages, cost very little and don't 'self discharge' (I doubt they're available anyway). I keep a spare in my bag, but often simply swap one battery between my 6x7 & 67 as required.

Batteries Plus has the Lithium Ion battery 6 volt just for that, at a recent cost point of $7-$8 . Not bad considering their life span. I just use those and keep on hand.
Duracell has them. Duracell PX28L 6V Lithium Battery. I am sure you've hunted high and low. Silvers are the older school one, some places you can not get.
