Did you do any optical comparisons between the 28-45 and the wet brick?

There is clear empirical evidence that the wet brick, and indeed most bricks, will always be sharper and have less distortion than the lens, thus it is suitable for most forms of optical benching.

The brick was a bit more opaque...
