The current spider base doesn't seat properly on the Z. I use one and it's secure, but not flat on the bottom of the body. You might find a bit of movement in the strap position as a result. They are very good straps though.
As part of a spider belt system I have my concerns you'll get snagged on door handles.

thanks Chris, but the only doors that could be effecting, would be the battery, right?

I was going to order it but B&H says it isn't available until the 15th so I ordered this instead:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B605UNA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This one is much less expensive so hopefully there's no complaints.

I think you can unclip it to access the battery (whilst keeping the base plate in there).

I think, don't quote me.

Spiderpro Hand Strap on the 645z

I've been using the Spiderpro Hand Strap on the 645z for a few months now and am very pleased.

I've bought the spider for my 645z and I found the Z has eyelet lugs thicker than usual so you have to force it to fit. There is no problem with battery access.
