90mm 67 lens with ExtTube?

So the 645 90mm lens is big money. Are there any major drawbacks with buying the 67 90mm and buying the PhotoDiox adapter ring? If you're shooting on Manual, the 67 lens would work just fine? Just no Autofocus?

Thanks.

This shot was taken with a 105mm f2.4 67 lens on a 645:

Here's the 75 f4.5 with extension tubes:

Afaik, she only has samples from 67 with extension tubes. If you can find an adapter cheap enough (that's the tough part!), then yes it's a workable solution. You might want to try with a helicoid tube (although the normal set are probably cheaper).

One advantage of the 67 primes is that they tend to be cheaper than 645 ones. One disadvantage is that they are huge!

On the 67 front, you might want to look at the 100 or 135 macro lenses (the 100 is better), or alternatively hunt down the 120mm 645 macro (in either A or FA flavours)

Don't get the 90mm leaf shutter -- it's almost as soft as the 35mm fisheye. I'm told that the non-leaf-shutter model is better but have not used it personally.

Some of the 6X7 lenses (195 2.4, 135 4, and 200 4) stand up against FA and DA lenses on my k-3, so there is no reason that a good 67 lens wouldn't perform marvelously on a 645.

Here's a link to my album of test shots. Check out the file name if you'd like to see the focal length and whether or not it's a crop. Where the K-3 does not have the exact focal length as an option, I picked the closest one (such as the 90mm LS which is recorded as an 85mm lens in the exif.)

it was totally worth it for me to try out the inexpensive P67 90mm, 100mm Macro, 105mm, 135mm Macro and shoot them on the 645D. That way when i got a 90mm DFA I knew exactly why it was nice to quickly sell all of that glass and use the best (actually I kept the 105 as a "back up").

For my tastes the P67 glass on the D or Z look good at stops like 11 and 16. The 90mm DFA looks really great from about 3.2 to 10.
