Most of us shoot DNG and with it comes an embedded colour profile that is always much better than Adobe's interpretation.

But shoot PEF and you won't get one.

Is there a reason to shoot PEF over DNG?

I'm not sure, you sort of wonder why there is such a huge difference in the file size.

When I first got the camera i took a shot on a tripod in both formats. Apart from colour I couldn't pick a difference.

Do you happen to know where I could lay my hands on equivalent profile(s) for the 645D?
