Faulty 645 120 FA Macro Lens?

Hi,

I have just purchased a used 645 120 FA Macro, and it seems the lever at the back that opens the aperture is flopping around, whereas with all of my other lenses it has a spring release. For instance just by rotating the lens the lever moves under the effects of gravity, swaps positions and opens/closes the aperture. Would someone else with this lens be kind enough to confirm whether this is behaviour is normal, or that it is not and the lever is spring loaded?

Thanks,
Andy.

On my 120 it springs back as well as on any other lens, and it should, since the mechanism to shift the aperture down to the correct position only applies pressure from one side, the spring has to be firm enough that when the internal lever flicks it doesn't stop the lens down to f/32 from the force. I'm comfortable enough with taking things apart that I could have fixed something like that myself, but you really should have it looked into, it could be as simple as the spring having gotten knocked off it's nest.
