Sigh... had it less than a day, fresh from Japan, a 120mm FA and, of course a mishap. First one in a long time. Anyway the lens over all is fine, but it managed to land on the aperture ring which dented. It can be moved with effort, but essentially the ring is frozen. Wondering if anyone can suggest where I should send it, or if its worth trying to take apart to bend it out a little so it will move freely.

Those are the two I'd suggest too.
I think Precision would be a last (and expensive) resort.

You can try KEH - they have gotten a couple of good reviews for lens repair recently.

I sent my DA 70 limited to Eric about two weeks ago. He said it would be about 3 weeks turn around time. I will post my experience when I get my lens back. Repair was for oil causing sticky aperture blades and a loose inner barrel.

KEH may just send it to Precision. I bought an FA lens from them that was broken, sent it back for repair (hard to find lens), they just sent it to Precision -- who declared it unrepairable or parts unavailable or something and then I ended up with a refund 4 months later. Of course that's a lens I bought from KEH. If you send them a lens for repair, whether it is done in-house or not at all I don't know. (But I'd find out first.)

Well, they'd have to pay Precision so I guess it is only as a last resort...

Got this off of Ugly Hedg hog. Guy in Denver that fix's camera's and lenses. Supposed to be pretty good.
