Hood Vertical instead of Horizontal.

This doesn't make any sense. I havd a Pentax 90 f2.4 lens hood that I used for my old 90 f2.4 LS lens I sold long ago and tried it for my new LS lens and screwed it on. It stopped in the vertical shooting position instead of horizontal so when you turn the camera vertical it's the opposite. It should be the other way around. I tried it with and without a filter on the lens and makes no difference. Is there a secret to the simply mounting(screw on) of this hood I don't know about? I don't recall having that problem with the other same lens.
