pulled the trigger

I'm tired of waiting for FF and wanted bigger files and more shadow detail.
The 645d prices came down to be within my FF budget so I pulled the trigger on a new 645d through Amazon and spent all my FF money. I have a few A primes for my original 645: a 45/2.8, 75/2.8, and 200/4 and those will have to hold me over until my bank account recovers enough to start thinking about new glass. That should also give me a little time to figure out my preferred focal lengths for this format too. I'm thinking I'll want that 35 relatively soon, either the new or old version. Also I was looking at the 33-55 zoom too but opinions seem pretty mixed on that one.
Anyway, it will be here some time next week. I'm excited!

Congratulations! I still shoot with my 645 film camera and love it. Are you aware that the 645d sensor is 44mm x 33mm, and not the same as the 60mm x 45mm format? I own both the original 35mm and 75mm primes, but the new 35mm on the 645d will not give you the same angle of view as it did with your original 645.

Congratulations. I rented a 645d last weekend and will be making the same move as you. I may wait through black friday just to see if there is another price drop. Depending on how you get on with manually focusing older lenses, you might give a look to some of the 67 lenses. I was impress by the performance of the 105mm and the 90mm in the time I had with the 645d.

My skills and budget are far from medium format territory but I can't wait to see what it could do in capable hands - Congratulations!

Yep, given the price of the 645D, it looks like the most competitive offering of the market in this format.

I haven't seen one for cheap enough yet, but, it could happen to me as well.

Used glass is still reasonable. I like the FA 45-85mm and the FA 33-55m as all purpose lens. Have fun with your new 645D.
