D FA 35mm F3.5 availale for pre-order at B&H - low price!

After seeing the UK launch price, it's amazing that the D FA 35mm will only cost $1096 in the US- or at least that's the current price at B&H:

Pentax HD PENTAX-D FA645 35mm f/3.5 AL [IF] Lens 26450 B&H Photo

The FA version originally retailed for $1599 (when re-aunched back in 2014), and its used value is around $1000. So this is pretty darn good

If one were to buy a new 645D, this 35mm and a 120mm all new, they would have a very cheap and very compelling MF 28/90mm Kit for a fantastic price.

Anyone bummed it doesn't have the weather sealing component that the other DFA lenses have?

Perhaps you should put the 645 specification in the thread title so as not to get everyone excited? Here was I (clicking on the sidebar link) thinking Ricoh had put out the first 35mm focal-length f/3.5 prime since the mid 1970's, only to find my hopes cruelly dashed!

Now why would they do that if there's already a tiny F2.4 version out there?

In any case, screenshots of the US pentax website suggest that the $1099 price on the lens in question is an error and should in fact be $1599, so those who want it should probably snag it at the current price at B&H before it goes up.

Will B&H honour the orders for the lower price I wonder? Do they have a Errors and Omissions exclusion in their Ts and Cs?

Does this mean the lens is a crop lens, that it covers the smaller sensor of the 645z/d and not the full frame of the 645 format? Hopefully, I worded that correctly. I just bought a mint open box FA 35 for a good price from a reputable dealer and I see no need to return it to get this lens.

I believe the D-FA designation means that it will also work with the full frame 645 systems.

Adam, even Pentax said that their suggested list price would be different than the street price.

so, if you pre-order, do you have to take it or can you walk away? I'm not too familiar with ordering at B&H.
