When, I get that thing I'm going to test it like mad. Why would Pentax need to unload all those lenses so cheap? If there is a new MSRP coming from Pentax, I can't see it dropping all the way to that level. It's curious as well that they have to sell these as used, when they sound completely new in the box with 1 year warranty. Probably demos of some kind, I guess.

As for the pricing error possibility (already confirmed not to be the case by GarethC7), that's what I thought at first too since the 25mm was $3,028 which is a good deal but no where near as good a deal as $2,038 for the 28-45 lenses. At first I thought there was some sort of fat fingers punched in the numbers, but it appears not.

Popflash Photo will definitely be saved as a favorite seller on my ebay!

Yeah these will need to go through a lot of testing, as great as everyone says these lenses are, there still seems to be a good amount of sample variation reported.

As you mentioned their's a good chance they're demos or loaners that were already written off by Pentax and are just trying to dump to clean out inventory.

Even then I don't know why Popflash didn't list them for at least $3k, which they easily would've sold for in no time as well. It's a crazy deal for $2k

Sure are some interesting happenings lately for this system. What I didn't know (until just now) is the DA 25mm was discontinued earlier this year. On the review page here for the 25mm states "The Pentax DA 645 25mm lens became available in April, 2012 for $4,995 and was discontinued in mid-2015 for unknown reasons."

SMC Pentax-DA 645 25mm F4 AL [IF] SDM AW Reviews - 645 Wide-Angle Primes - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database

Complete Pentax lens lineup (no 25mm):
lenses | Ricoh Imaging

Well, hopefully they come out with something wider, faster, smaller, less expensive and uses traditional filters. They can do that... Can they? Well sure they can. Yeah, doubt it. Can't hurt to dream.

Good lord. Popflash Photo also sold two 90mm macros for 2k each last week:

PENTAX 645 MACRO 90mm | eBay

Like the five 28-45 lenses they sold, that's at least $1500 less than used market value. Being these lenses all carry 1 year warranty and are basically new, they could probably all easily fetch 4k each.

Just crazy.

Just picked up my new 28-45 lens and all looks good but away from home until this evening so I'll have to wait to try it out. I know it's been said before by others, and I knew it would be big, but I was honestly unprepared for the size and weight of this thing.

The box looks a little tattered but the lens is just like new.

I found out the lenses were used, due to the cheap price.

Didn't Popflash rate them as 9.3/10 or something similar? They therefore never claimed that they were New.

I pretty much only buy used 645 stuff anyway except my 645D body that was new old stock and not a lot more than very used ones.

Clarification; new to me.

The auction stated they were 9.93 used, with a one year warranty. However, the lens is like new, just like Tony told GarethC7. I think the 9.93 ratings are just a means of CYA for Tony. Maybe it's respective of the box, which as I said was a little tattered, but I've had actual new boxes be in worse shape. For me, since it's got the warranty, it really is like getting a brand new lens for a fraction of the price. Of course, the real proof will be the photos. My bet is they were demos of some sort, but not the kind of demos that sits on a camera store shelf getting dusty and waiting to slobbered over by people with no intention of buying it.

The other item I ordered from Popflash; a Singh-Ray filter arrived today too. That auction stated there were very minor scratches on the glass. However, there are absolutely no scratches at all. Again, I think this is just CYA for Popflash, in case they missed something and to not oversell product condition.

Super excited to give lens a full workout tomorrow.

Why do you say your D was 'new old stock'? Pentax still lists it as a current model on their website.

I just assumed that, but with finite facilities I wouldn't expect the D to still be in production. Unless they have a warehouse full of those sensors or something.

I just got mine, it really does look brand new, not even a spec of dust under the lens cap.

Just took a few shots and everything is working as it should, AF, SR, Zoom and Focus rings rotate smoothly.

I'm gonna try to take some test shots to check edge to edge uniformity, but so far it looks fantastic.
