Up to 1/4000 no problems as well.As far as strobes go,reading from the manual it says you can trigger them using the cable, but would not be able to remotely control the power. So it looks like it would be dumb trigger with the strobes.
Hope this helps.

Hi Goreturist may I ask what version of Cactus V6 II are you using? Is it for the Canon or Nikon? I am considering getting them as backup triggers to my Acons r930p.

Thanks.

It would be even better if Pentax paid Godox to support Pentax cameras in their system - then the many options of the Godox world would open up for 645Z and other Pentax users.

Mark, I have been enjoying your blog over the last few weeks and what you have been doing as I learn off camera flash.

Yes of course if manufacturers collaborated it would be great. The reality is Pentax is a VERY SMALL part of the camera market and it makes little business sense for Godox to develop for Pentax. But with companies like Cactus producing products which integrate triggers/flashes we are all in luck. As I explain in my article that ability with Pentax cameras and the Godox strobe eco system is NOW, so that's a great thing in my view. ALL options for Godox are NOW open to us.

Amen to that, although it would take away from the Pentax flash sales---they're decent flashes, imo.

I'm sure Godox users would love that, but Godox is just one of many, many brands out there. And Godox support would be of zero use to me, for example.

A potentially better solution would be for Pentax to do what Elinchrom has done with their Skyport protocol and open it up for other manufacturers to use in an attempt to get some interoperability and standardisation. Pentax, at the risk of hurting their own flash sales, could open up their P-TTL protocol to make it easy for the likes of Godox to develop for, without the expense of reverse-engineering and the massive ongoing support that it requires as nuances are discovered across camera models, etc. Given that third parties are producing P-TTL flashes anyway and still people are buying Pentax because of brand allegiance then it is unlikely to completely cannibalise their market in this space, but would open up a space in which Pentax has no stake.

Mark, I noticed you are using the Godox FT16 trigger (433 Mhz), do you think HSS would also work with the newer XT16 trigger (2.4Ghz)?

If the XT16 can be used, does that mean the FTR16 units (433 Mhz) do not need to be attached to the strobes? Because the XT16 (unlike the FT16) can communicate directly with the Godox 600 and AD200. At least that is my reading of the Flashhavoc Guide on Godox triggers, but I am a novice and maybe missing something obvious, like the XT16 can only communicate with XTR16 units not directly with the AD200.

Thanks for any thoughts you have.

Ah great minds think alike....yes I tried the XT16 both with and without corresponding USB 2.4ghz receivers and no go for HSS. Not sure why either. FYI the XT16 WILL control the AD200 and the AD600. But not for HSS with Pentax. But nonetheless I'm just thrilled to be able to have HSS that has no banding with strobes I've switched to for my other work. I found that Priolite has linked to my early review of their MBX1000 Hotsync. I don't have the heart to tell them I'm selling those units.....LOL

Doh! I've just sold my Cactus V6ii as I've not used it since switching to Godox lights from Elinchrom! I'll have to pick up another, would be great to use these with my Z and the 200/360/600's that I have (and love).

LOL you are NOT ALONE. About six months ago I bought the V6II after I saw a YouTube video by a photographer who got Profoto B1's to do HSS with the Pentax. His 'trick' was to select the Nikon flash on the Cactus as the flash unit. I was so damn excited, but alas it didn't work on the Godox line of strobes. So I returned it. I'm just so happy that I now have HSS with the strobes I find work so well for me.
