Now that we have the K-1

Where is the drum beat for a digital full frame 645?
Shouldn't this current generation really be called a 4433 or some such?

Surprised I have not seen the torches and pitchforks out for this.

Maybe we're not torch and pitchfork kind of people. I think my Z is pretty wonderful. Before Pentax develops a "FF 645", I'd rather see them throw some money at proper support for what is already out there. The products are wonderful, the support system/network (including sales and marketing), not so much. At least everywhere outside of Japan...

Ditto. The older legacy lenses hold up much better with the cropped sensor in the D & Z. I'm not sure they'd fare so well in the corners on a digital 645 full frame. Some of their shortcomings were evident back in 645 film days. I'm perfectly content with my Z just as it is.

It seems from what ive read, they should create a few more lenses first. Also create a new adapter between the 645 and k mount where it would allow full control.

Pentax's niche is having an affordable medium format system. Prices would probably get out of hand if they pushed for a larger format. It's not going to happen anytime soon, IMO.

The lack of super wide lenses is, for me, the only serious liability of the current sensor size. That said, imagine the output of a 645ZII with pixel shift.

There must be some sort of technical limitation because I'm surprised that a third party hasn't come up with working aperature control.
