Question, wanting to buy the Pentax 645Z.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to buy the Pentax 645Z coming Month and ask if its the right Time?

Already used the Camera last Year and was amazed, since then I had it on my List.

Now would be the Time but the Price is still 8000 Euros in Germany and I wanted to ask if I should wait, is there going to be a change of Price soon, will there be a better Pentax coming?
Its already on this Price for a long Time and I just dont want to buy it shortly before the price drops a bit.

Maybe its useless question, but before buying I wanted to be sure.

One thing is clear, I love the Pentax 645Z.

Pro cameras don't tend to fluctuate in price while they're current, so I would say go for it. You do have the option of importing the camera from the US, but then you would only get one year of warranty, instead of two.

Hello Adam,

Thank You for the fast reply.

If I would get it from US, what would be a good Store to buy it?

B&H and Adorama are the ones I'd recommend, as they both ship internationally and are authorized dealers.

Per the B&H calculator, with VAT and processing paid in advance ($1,409.73) the total price ends up being roughly $8475 (just under 7500 euros). You can also choose to pay B&H just $7065 for the camera plus shipping and then pay taxes/duties when the camera arrives in Germany.

Highly recommend checking out eBay. While B&H and Adorama are respected high volume resellers and I buy lots of stuff from them, their pricing conforms to the manufacturers' MAP. I purchased my 645z and kit lens a year ago on eBay for $500 less than the prevailing price of the body alone. eBay is where authorized dealers who specialize in mainstream and consumer models go to sell slow moving items the 645z. I bought my cam from an authorized dealer and got a Pentax USA warranty. Not sure if the market is the same in Europe though.

i would keep my eyes open for a second hand 645z with few shutter counts. I got one good set last year with 1000 clicks and three lenses for almost half price then new. I am sure you can get a better offer than +7000 euros. I can recommend this beast :-)

I have heard exhibitions or trade fairs are good places to grab one second hand for a low price. Perhaps check second hand dealers with a reputation in general. or you can also wait for TTIP to be signed

I will check out Ebay and onesopdigital as well, is there anything I need to be careful while buying?

It depends, I heard people writing about it but how much possibility is there that it comes?
Also it should still take a Time until its finish right?

Get the Z now.

I'll be all over the 100mp one if it comes out, but lets face it if it does - it might be 12-18 months away from sale.
