8K Time Lapse Shot on 645Z

Not sure if anybody has seen this yet, but it's a 8K Patagonia video made by Martin Heck in which he combined 100,000 photos from Pentax's 645Z.

Where I read/found out about it: 8K Patagonia Time Lapse Combines 100,000 Medium Format Photos

Wow - fantastic!
And now I know that we're seeing the south face of the Torres del Paine in most images from there.. still photos tend not to tell that story. My northern-hemisphere bias is showing..

Gorgeous images, but I wish he had shot double the amount of images for a slower paced time-lapse. As it is, it seems way too hurried.

Good stuff. I am not sure how could I watch an 8k video as of now.
I could watch a 100% crop on my 1080p monitor, or perhaps print each frame really large and swap the prints really fast?

Very cool from a technical point of view. From a practical perspective though, I can't help but wonder what the shutter life expectancy of a 645Z is. Did this 4-1/2 minute 'video' use up most of it?

I bet it did. But then again a cost of the shutter compared to the cost of the trip may be marginal and part of a planned expense.

Good point. Both the camera and the trip are so far off my radar screen I didn't consider this.

It's a mix of images of the Torres Massif in TDP National Park and Mt Fitz Roy in Los Glaciares National Park on the Argentine side.
