Anyone Using 645N

Strange behaviour with the FA 45mm and not wanting to autofocus... I have not experienced this.

I have been shooting with mine for many years now mostly with the FA 75mm (and sometimes with the FA 45-85mm, 67 105mm, FA 150mm and sometimes with the 67 M* 400mm ED monster). I purchased mine as a parts camera and sent it to Pentax USA (when they used to repair these) and had it completely overhauled (new shutter box and new mount were the main components) and it works really well. I have had two backup bodies, but never used them so sold them off recently.

Isn't the 45mm one of those where the focusing ring can be pushed forwards for AF (reveals the words 'Auto Focus' on the lens barrel), or pulled back to cover the words and this sets it to manual focus?

Yes, most all the FA series are like this save for the 75mm since it is too small, it has a left-right switch on the top of the barrel instead.
