Pentax 120mm F4 A vs 100mm 67 with adapter

Does anybody have any experience with comparing these two lenses? Specifically on a 645D body? I am wondering if it would be worth while to adapt the Pentax 67 100mm macro lens to the 645D? Or should I go the cheap option and pick up an A version of the 120mm F4 macro. The focal length change doesn't mean anything to me, and I am mostly concerned with the close up abilities of the lenses. It would be for copy work, both flat field art as well as medium sized objects.

Thanks!!

I have never tried the 100 but the A120 is such a rock star of a lens, I cannot imagine the need for anything better. Highly recommended.

I second mikeSF. The A120 is amazingly sharp.

I agree with A120 f4 being a great macro lens, at max 1: 1 magnification and good working distance.

The 67 100 f4 without the adapter produces 1:2 magnification and screw in the adapter , it goes 1:1 magnifation but with a shorter working distnace compare to A120 f4. The 67100 f4 produces beautiful contrasty images without PP and very pleasing. Focusing is silky smooth too.Its much heavier compare with A120 f4. For still subjects, and when the subject is huge like an orchids, I would use the 67 100 f4 without adapter.

I have a full set of extension tube for both 67 and 645 and for extreme close up for critters, I prefer the A120 for the working distance.

Both A120 f4 and 67 100 produces sharp and pleasing image and A120 f4 is very much affordable as far as cost is concerned. I own both lenses.
