I generally use 645Z in studio; is there a way of using its HDMI line out (and not the usb 3.0 ) for utilizing a Galaxy tablet as external monitor?

No. The alternatives include tethering, the ImageSync app and HDMI to an external monitor, but not the situation you've described.

I was going to ask the same question. I want to use my galaxy tablet as an external monitor with my K3 for astrophotography for focusing purposes etc. How do I do that?

Are you sure the ImageSync app will work as the 645z is not listed in compatible cameras ?

Checked, 645Z is not listed in ImageSync supported cameras.
I think I will have to invest some money in a external HDMI ...
I actually would really appreciate some hints on which model orientate my choice.

Ah, yes, you'd instead buy a Flucard to get that Live View.

I run HDMI to a computer monitor indoors and to a 7" battery powered monitor outdoors.
