so Fuji do make the current Hassy lenses (the H system), this other company do the X system ones.
Yes....and Fuji are doing an adapter for the H lenses that will fit the new MF Fuji

It's an ugly divorce.
Yes. Fuji makes all of Hassy's glass. Fuji also makes all the professional HD broadcast lenses for Sony's commercial grade video cameras. No telling what else they make, but Fuji has a long history of upper end professional grade glass. This is probably why they were able to put so many new X-mount lenses on the market so quickly. An adaptor for Hassy glass is the obvious choice since they make Hassy glass.

Fujifilm GFX started with... 645z file
Almost the same thing happened with K1. It is the same sensor as the Nikon D810 and the Sony A7R. For some reason Pentax squeezed a lot more out of the sensor. I saw a recent comparison of a GFX image to 645Z and the Sony A7RII. The noise profile was much better in the Fuji. Perhaps Fuji engineers came up with better algorithm for processing the images, hence the better looking hi-ISO images.

After 3 yrs, I bet other electronics parts and processing must have improved to show better performance than 645z file.

I am happy for Fujifilm (still mad at them for discontinued the FP 100C) GFX, and hope the new Pentax 645 will beat it (pretty sure it will).

But I also wonder whether any "betterness" we are seeing is related to in-camera processing, meaning the "raws" are not raws, as has been notoriously the case with some other cameras in the Canon-Nikon (and others, I presume) universe...

From recent criticisms regarding the Fuji MF camera, It appears that the file quality wasn't the only thing Fuji should have been paying attention to. Ergonomics.

The 645z is such a lovely thing to hold, the GFX....not so much.

Don't worry, Nikon made the F5 which was an ergonomic disaster and people still bought it.
