I would sail to Jersey just for it !
I live on Guernsey - the better island! 😛

So, I could get the 645Z + 35mm D-FA + 75mm lens for £4,665.83 (or £4,582.50 if they take the VAT off before the £500 discount). I could then sell on the 35mm D-FA & 75mm and be quids in.

I wouldn't be surprised if Pentax would announce the 100 MP 645 camera at CP+. They love CP+ for their big announcements and Ricoh has managed to be quite tight-lipped about new product announcements if they chose to be. Such an announcement would also take some wind out of Fuji and Hasselblad because the 100 MP sensor would make up for some of the limitations of the current lens lineup. But I have been wrong before...

Jeez if they announce the 100mp at CP+ I'm going to be torn between wanting that or going for lower priced 51mp 645z's!!

It is not really sure if CP+ is the event for100 Mp medium format, but I wish they say something about their plan.

You're talking about a camera that isn't released yet, so I'm not even going to ask if you have images to demonstrate what you're talking about.
I think he has some not so good K-1 images.....

Australian pricing for GFX50S

I've just received an email offer from Camera Pro here in Brisbane, they're taking pre-orders and have listed the recommended retail prices (RRP) which you would expect will come down a bit later this year.

GFX50S $9999
GF63mm F2.8 $2399
GF32-64mm F4 $3499
GF120mm F4 Macro $4199

The same outlet lists the 645Z at $10,314, however even a cursory search will find the 645Z around the $9000-$9500 range. The cheapest I've seen the Z for in Oz is $8500 from memory.

The Fujinon lenses are mostly cheaper than Pentax equivalents when talking the newer D-FA versions.

The introduction of a 100mp sensor will put much more pressure on the old lens line up. Not sure exactly what the ratios are for MF but it might be getting close to outresolving the sensor, perhaps not for the DFA lenses but would be unsure about the old lenses. A 100mp sensor is not useful unless you have the glass to match it.

The 100 MP full-size 645 sensor is only 16% denser than the sensor in the 645Z so it's not going to create huge problems with out-resolving older lenses. Moreover, the problem of sensors out-resolving old lenses is only an issue for SOOC shooters which is not how most pro MF shooters operate. Given a nice clean high-DR RAW file (which is exactly what these high-end sensors put out), the right signal processing algorithms can recover a lot of lost detail without over-sharpening the noise.

+1, this being realism, not necessary optimism
A swift, "big and not so expensive 100 Mpix" answer is awaited for Ricoh if they want to continue smoothly their medium format adventure....

Resolution aside, the (lack of) DoF on the larger sensor would have me running to the shops.

I'd love no crop factor on my lenses. I don't care if they are soft at the edges shooting people.
