Pentax 'speedlight' type flashguns for 645Z

Would be interested to hear from anyone with experience of Pentax's line of 'speedlight' type flashguns used with the 645Z......seems like the Pentax AF 540 FGZ II is the 'best' of their offering?? Thks, Ian

I can't speak for the 645Z, but I have the 540ii. Its a fantastic flash, albeit a bit expensive. Do you have an actual question?

I have the 540FGZII and it's a great option. Not sure if it's the best (I had Metz flashes for my Sony and Oly cameras...), and I also have Cactus flashes which work well. But I have been pleased with the Pentax----and it's weatherproof. Haven't done the HSS with it yet....it's supposed to work.

I thought "speedlight" was just another name for a flashgun.

Thks - just looking for opinions and practical experiences......also looking at the HSS function for small scale lighting projects, rather than use my (bulky) studio Priolites....

You can use a Godox AD360II or one the plenty rebranded versions. I think it's the same price of some of those speedlights, and packs a lot more power, and is just a tiny bit bigger, or even the same size than some of the speedlights.
You'll need a Cactus V6ii trigger to get HSS on Pentax cameras.

I have the first gen AF540 Pentax flashes and there is a known battery door issue that is annoying.
Otherwise, great performers loaded with features.

"Speedlight" is Nikon,s name for their flash line. "Speedlite" is Canon's line.
