Lens hood for the Pentax FA 645 35mm lens

Does anyone know if the lens hood for the new 2015 HD version of this lens, also serves for the older FA version? I have purchased a second-hand copy of the older FA version, which has no lens hood. The price for a second-hand lens hood is similar to the new ones available for the new 2015 HD version. Hence my question. Many thanks for your input!

I am fairly certain that both the DFA and the FA 645 35mm lens hoods will work. They are both 82mm, both bayonet mounts, and the only difference that I know of is the little removable door for use with a polarizer.

Note: Not to be confused with the SMC-A 645 35mm which used a screw-mount 77mm lens hood.

The hood you're looking for is called PH-RBB82 and there's plenty of them on eBay, I purchased a brand-new hood, boxed and everything from there. It has a door you can open to turn filters around.

This is the seller that sold me mine, I can highly recommend him. Don't let the product thumbnail throw you off, it's the genuine article.

Many thanks to both of you for your prompt reply. Thanks also for the recommendation of a Japanese vendor (unfortunately, they don't ship to Spain, where I live). But as you say, if the new version of the lens hood is OK there are quite a lot of options on e-bay.

Thanks for help in obtaining the lens hood

Just wanted to say thanks again to the two of you for your help. I ended up buying a new lens hood from Japan, for quite a good price, and it works fine. Appreciated your input very much. Regards, johnmb

I've used the a35mm lens with and without a screw on lenses. I can see no use for a lens hood. if the hood is big enough to have any effect, it will cut off part of the image. I try to shoot with the sun over my shoulder, I shoot other cameras with a 8mm and a 5.8mm ha no hood and the other has a real small hood.
