Pentax 645 150 FA or FA 120 Macro Lens

I am trying to decide on which one would be the better of the 2. They both have Excellent Reviews. I do mainly Portraits and Family Functions and some Scenic shooting. I know its heavier than the 150 and not as fast with AF compared to the 150 FA. Any suggestions. Thanks

Shallower minimum depth of field, greater subject distance, lighter weight and more leverage in poor light vs ultimate sharpness. Different lenses for different applications. There is room for both.

For what it's worth, I have the FA150/2.8, and only the A version of the 120/4.0 macro, but it looks to be essentially the same optical formula as the FA.

In a nutshell: The Pentax 645 FA120mm f/4 Macro is unflatteringly sharp for portraits. Get the 645 FA150mm f/2.8.

Thank you all for your input. I am leaning towards the 120 for 1 other reason: Group shots need to be SHARP and I do some Landscapes
As far as my portraits go almost all of them are POST PROCESSED to give the ladies the LOOK they want, GLOWING and Sharp eyes and eyelashes. Thank you

P.S I am NOW thinking of getting 150 FA due to Lighter weight and can still get my group shots @ F 8-11 with that lens
Thank you

agree with this and that for portraits, the FA150 excels over the 120.
good luck
