but I think my kit for most situations will look like:

Excellent, that's precisely my kit as well--though no doubt I could fit in the 75/2.8 AL should the opportunity arise. (I'd be curious as to what the 75's "picture area" at MFD happens to be...the 55/4 gets you about 6"x7" and new model 200/4 gets you to roughly 12"x14", so hopefully it's somewhere in between.)

I think my last move would be to sell my 55 f/4 and 75 f/4.5 and buy the 55-100mm zoom. That would make my kit much more versatile and Landscape competent. I think I remember seeing Desertscape say they use that lens for a lot of their work.

Yes, I no longer own the 55 or 75 f/4.5, as I needed the extra DOF offered by the 55-100 zoom for landscape work.

Team,

I just noticed that the lens barrel of the 105 I purchase has a bit of wobble to it. Its not snug like the other lenses are. Is this a critical issue I need to be concerned about?

Thanks!

Hi Desert,
Can you explain a bit more about the f/- you use on that zoom?
I see it does f/32 whereas my f/3.5 55mm does f/22 and my f/4.5 75mm does f/22 too.
What film iso?

I am presently having soft focus with a Super Angulon SA 65 which I have adapted to a Graflex.
Maybe the softness is because i am opening the lens up more than it was intended in the old days.

Thanks!

I would say that I shoot the zoom at f/19 most often but use f/22 quite a bit also. I do use f/32 when the scene absolutely demands it. Its f/32 DOF sets it apart from the other wide lenses in the lineup. I mostly shoot ISO 50 film.

The 75/4.5 Shift also has F/32, so it's another option. (It's a bit heavy and a preset lens though, but good for landscapes) You can shift stuff around in landscapes shots as well, not just for architecture shooting.

Phil.

Yes it does. Forgot about that one. The zoom has the advantage of having many focal lengths with f/32. I use it at 65mm and 90mm sometimes.

Go take some pictures with the thing, the pictures or the process of making them will tell you if there's a problem.
