considering it isn't the more current 645NII, I'd get the K1 instead. You already have the D-FA28-105mm lens. I'd make the most of it.
It sounds from what you have said that had it been the 645Nii v the K1 this might have been the "game changer" in terms of which to buy. Can you or anyone else say what the more current 645Nii has compared to the P645N that makes it the "game changer" in terms of choosing analogue over digital.

Thanks

The Pentax645n lacks mirror lock up features of the 645 NII. There are some who think this is a minor difference as the 645N has an extremely well damped mirror mechanism - for a majority of users the lack of MLU would go unnoticed, but if you work with long lenses 200mm+ in the 1/125th~1s shutter speed range, MLU can make a observable difference. Also the 645NII is more likely to be in good condition as it is a newer camera and its body finish is less likely to chip.

All good points and I'd rather have a pair of NIIs than the Ns I own, but on the other hand the N goes for about half the price of an NII these days, and if you find one in excellent condition (both of mine are) it's a great value.

Thanks. The MLU of the Nii would seem to be a marginal difference to many but if it makes an observable difference in the 200mm+ range and in slower shutter speeds such as > 1/125th then I understand.
