While Pentax does publish a lens road map that gives some guidance on what they are planning with lenses there is no camera road map. Typically there has been less than 60 days warning on new cameras, sometimes less. Security on this is very tight. So no rumors about new cameras means only that there are no rumors. Nothing else.

Why would you need to have more info about Ricoh Imaging plans? Isn't the 645z the best MF system money can currently buy?

yes the Z may be the best, but i have a D and having just bought a Z, I found the improvements did not warrant the purchase - for me.
I will continue to use the D it's still a great camera. I'm just in a position to be able to upgrade and I'm of course looking forward to what Pentax will do next.

I was hoping to hear some speculation, this past weekend, but I can wait. I can also appreciate what jartrax wrote.

When the price drops, it may be an indication that a new model comes.
Example, a big online shop in Sweden:
645Z house ~ 10,000 € (Old price remains)
Campaign 645Z + 55 / 2.8 ~ 7.500 €
Maybe next year.
But promotions with kit lenses can be cheap.
K1 has gone up around ~ 300 €. This indicates that it will take time before a new model arrives. But a kit: K1 + DFA28-105 costs ~ 85 € more!!

Yes, Pentax has really dropped the ball. When you are a hobbyist like myself and wish to plan for future purchases, it sucks when you have absolutely no idea when and what is coming. Or, for that matter, if the system even has a future at all.

I had been optimistic before, but this time the price drops in combination with patents for a new telephoto zoom are promising though.

I don't need their zooms. I want primes. For many reasons (size, weight, design) medium format is for primes. Unfortunately, Fuji has done it all right. Those lenses. Enviable. And in an amazing short time.

But perhaps Pentax catches on. Eventually.

... this time I bought a new car instead. More happy with that than I was with waiting for Ricoh!
