645D / 645Z: Using P-TTL with 6x7 or 645 lenses in non-"A" setting?

According to the 645D manual, Ricoh homepage and pentaxforums' review of the 645D, P-TTL should work with 6x7 lenses via adapter using genuine Pentax flashes (different to K-mount DSLRs due to aperture coupling - even with 6x7 lenses).

However, I can't get it to work. The flash (Pentax AF-540FGZ or Metz 58-AF2) always fires with full power when I use my 6x7 lenses. Firmware of my 645D is recent one (1.33). Besides the 6x7 lenses I only have the D FA 55 which doesn't have an aperture ring, so I can't test how P-TTL behaves with a 645 lens in another aperture setting than "A". Without flash, im very happy using my 6x7 lenses on the 645D...

Do you have any information what I can do to have working P-TTL with 6x7 lenses or could someone please test how his or her 645D/Z behaves in the described situation? Thank You for help!

AFAIK P-TTL requires the "A" setting regardless of the fact that the 645D/Z can sense the position of the aperture lever.

Sources claiming P-TTL + 6x7 lenses should work:
Pentax 645D vs. Nikon D3x Review - Construction and Handling | PentaxForums.com Reviews
http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/english/support/man-pdf/645d.pdf page 26

645z FAQ ('What about Metering, P-TTL auto flash and Lens correction function?')

Or do I understand something wrong? It's not that I can't live without P-TTL (A mode is not bad either), but It would be nice to have.

AF-540FGZ flash manual http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/english/support/man-pdf/acc_st_af540fgz.pdf just states, that 'if the aperture of the lens is in a position other than A, the flash mode will switch to TTL', regardless of camera body...

No one around who has a 645D/Z, a non DA/DFA-lens and a P-TTL flash?

the point is, i spent $15000 for z and lenses.. ricoh/pentax should take care of their customers. I use sony e-mount and olympus beside and especially sony was my best idea to join. ricoh/pentax is not able to provide a usefull shift possibility and a decent studio light usability. forget priolight! and they are not able to build bew fast lenses they are up to date instead this, they are playing with electronic gadgets and ancient photo concepts! i hope sony will bring a 50/60mp a9r for my large prints, profoto is now connected with sony. i hope pentax will wakeup (if fuji is not interrested they should sell it to a company more up to it) or i have to be a game changer. think fuji is interesting and more conteporary!

Assuming that you mean "Priolite", just interested in why you dismiss them.

priolight: much to heavy and bulky, not really mobile, no TTL!

Simply a variation of opinions and requirements.....I'm more than happy with the portability and functionality.
