Pentax 645z gallery

After 18 months of using the camera I've put together a website available to view. The camera has been a joy to use. The lenses employed include: DFA 25, DFA35, 55, 75, 150 and 300A. If you have any questions just let me know.

Beautiful photography and website, Darren. Bookmarked it for returning when I have more time. Don't recall having seen such intriguing work about Morocco, that much-overlooked country, in a long time. You make that 645Z sing, I must say.

Many thanks. The first 3 shots were taken with a 300A f4. The rest are mostly with the 150FA f2.8.

Fantastic shots. Love the portraits, especially those with the window lighting.

Put a great camera into the hands nof a great photographer and the results are awesome.

Your work is quite inspiring and is truly a great credit to you as a photographer and to the Pentax equipment you have chosen to use. I am inspired to try some of your advice/techniques in my own photography.

Many thanks to all. If you wish to see new images then click on Switzerland from the portfolio pull down menu. Of the 20 or so 3 were taken with the 35, the rest split about evenly between the 75 and 150 all from the recent lens range for the 645z. All used a polariser with ND's on some. With regards to the topic of diffraction, I find stopping down to one stop less than fully closed with the camera diffraction set to on works well enough when used with a certain software that has a diffraction correction feature. In effect I think the images have some small amount of degradation but it's not too noticeable at 100% view. Fully stopping down has quite a negative impact even with the pull back features.

Some very nice "fine art" type shots in there. I found about a third of the shots to be ordinary in composition though. Overall, a success.

Thanks for the feedback much appreciated. My aim for the project was to produce a series that has a consistent way of seeing and one that is based on simplifying each scene amidst the chaos whilst shooting for structure, balance, harmony and texture. There is also a wonderful quality of light there which I have tried to reproduce. I agree some compositions do seem more sedate than others and in a highlights gallery of lifetime river shots wouldn't make the cut. The editing process can often be about being faithful to intention and not just keeping the more dramatic images. This can always be a struggle and is ongoing. No doubt to be revisited with an edit down the line.
