I was a long time Pentax shooter, but a few years ago, I decided to make the jump to full frame. I was tired of waiting on Pentax to release a full frame, so I bought a Nikon D600 and a large amount of primes.
I've been very happy with the Nikon, but then I started getting into film shooting. As the years went by, I've acquired a huge amount of medium and large format film cameras, a darkroom and all the assorted gear. The image quality I was getting from medium and large format film was addicting, but hiking with 50+ lbs. of large format gear at 12,000+ elevations is getting a little tiring
.
I've been wanting to get into digital medium format for some time, but the prices were just not letting me. Now that the 645D is discontinued, pricing is about where I can pay for one.
After months of searching and bidding, I finally have a 645D of my own! I paid $2350.00 for a like new model with only 3700 shutter actuations. It arrived yesterday. I am now waiting on my lens to arrive. Man, these two days of waiting on the lens are going to be hard.
I decided to start with an FA 45-85mm F4.5 and an A 120mm F4 Macro. I wish I had bought some of these lenses a few years ago when prices were a lot lower.
I can't wait to get out into the mountain and put this 645D through its paces!
