Pentax 67 tilt/shift adapters from Fotodiox announced

Pentax Rumors is reporting on a set of tilt/shift adapters for Pentax 67 lenses. I was psyched to see this as other than the expensive Mirex there aren't a whole lot of options to do this. Unfortunately, they didn't bother making the adapter for the K-mount. Go figure. I sent them an email asking if they had any intention of doing so. Any other p67 lens owners interested? -- maybe pop them off an e-mail requesting it -- they are at Fotodiox, Inc. USA

Thanks for the info.
I guess I'd want to know how many 6x7 lenses have a large enough image circle to be useful with a T/S adapter before I'd purchase one for my 67.

To help clear up any confusion, here is the link to the Nikon version at Fotodiox...

Fotodiox Pro TLT ROKR - Tilt / Shift Lens Mount Adapter for Pentax 6x7 ? Fotodiox, Inc. USA

The new adapters allow use of Pentax 6x7 lenses on small format bodies (24x36 and smaller) including Sony E and A, Nikon F, Fuji X, and Canon EOS. Why this news ended up at Pentax Rumors is anyone's guess. Since none support aperture actuation/control or AF, there is no physical reason to not create a Pentax version. It may even be possible to do a Leitax conversion on the Nikon F version.

the 10mm left and 10mm right shift should be well within the 6x7 image circle for a full frame camera, so I suspect shift will work on all 67 lenses. 10 degrees of tilt is harder to guess I'd have to find the flange focal distance of the pentax 67 lenses to know whether your would get outside the standard image circle.

I will say this makes me a little sad. P67 lenses are creeping up in price and this could exacerbate the problem. If my lens collection was complete, I wouldn't mind.

I don't understand why 35mm users would want one - the widest 6x7 usable lens Is the 45mm - this is a longish focal length on 35mm for a tilt/shift lens. Most usable tilt/shift lenses are 28mm or 35mm focal lengths and these are often available in native 35mm mounts for less than the cost of the adapter and required 6x7 lens.

Even my 6x7 75mm shift (35mm equivalent) seems too long for the usual architectural subjects on 6x7.

It would be better for table-top macro work than for architecture.

Doing it with 645 lenses would be even better, though.

Just thought I'd update that I did hear back from Fotodiox today -- they have no current intention of offering this in k-mount and also don't do custom orders. Was worth a try. The leitax idea sounds like an interesting one down the road ...
