I know the Pentax 67 is an old system by modern standards, but I don’t really think of it as Medieval:

Medieval Pentax 67 SMC 45mm f 4 | eBay

I wonder what they were trying to say?

Perhaps that it was used in documenting the Battle of Sekigahara.

-- kaseki; older than the lens, but not as old as Asahi.

P.S. LensBeginner is likely correct, the kanji "chu" is used both as part of "medium" and of "middle ages."

It reminds me a bit of an ad that I saw some time ago: "We make genuine antiques..."

Just a bit more recent! The 45mm looks very close in cross section to the 21mm Super Angulon-R designed for the Leicaflex cameras by Schneider.

As a Renaissance man, this technology is of no interest to me.

Another take on a medieval medium format camera:

"Really moldy" Hasselblad 500c cameras and 80mm lenses listed on eBay: Digital Photography Review

Edit: these monstrosities sold for $466!

Hasselblad people...if it were Leicas, they would have sold for twice that.

Medium format. Mangled English /Chinglish is abundant on eBay.
The listing appears to be highly suspect, starting with the image of the lens and followed by the incorrect designation of its type in the description. "Description"!? What description??
