Losing time and date on 645z

Hi I'm in Melbourne, Australia and have a 645z. It appears the capacitor on the main board is not working as the date and time need resetting every time I remove the main battery. Does anyone here do this repair and how much would it cost me? Also anyone else have this problem? I'm really disappointed, I paid a bomb for this camera and haven't used it that much or mistreated it in anyway. Cheers

CR Kennedy should be able to repair it for you. If you don't use the camera often the backup battery can run dry faster than normal. It's a good idea to always keep a charged battery in the camera.

I know it is annoying, however not really worth bothering with if the camera is out of warranty, 2 minutes to reenter the date and time vs $$$$$
Just my 2 cents worth
Being in Melbourne if you really must have it fixed a visit to CR Kennedy in Port Melbourne is always the most efficient way to go from my experience

Thanks guys. I rang CR Kennedy they said the main board would have to be replaced and that they couldn't do it but would have to send it to the Phillipines. Disappointed to say the least. For such an expensive camera there should be better service options. Guess I'll just have to re enter every time. Cheers guys

This happens frequently in older Q system cameras.
(Conspiracy theory: It correlates with the 4:3 image format )
Like they say, just get comfortable with resetting the date after a battery change.

my new 645Z does this. Very annoying but not worth sending back for warranty work.
